Wolverines Continue to Improve The Wolverine basketball teams played Warner and Prague this week and both the boys’ and girls’ teams showed significant improvement. The boys beat Warner 55-53 on the road and returned home to whip Prague 8864.
Holdenville’s Virginia Piza let a shot fly in the Wolverines’ game with Prague. Piza scored 17 points in the contest.

If the start of basketball season was compared to a race at a track meet …it would be a combination of a sprint and a marathon. The starting gun was sounded when school started back after the break and things took off like a 100 meter dash and there’s six more weeks of intense basketball before the play-offs.

Basketball Season Resumes Essentially there’s 4 parts to basketball season. The season begins with scrimmage season, then pre-Christmas season, then post Christmas Season and finishes with the most important Play-off season.

WOLVERINES HAVE GOOD WEEK The Wolverines are improving! Which is what everyone predicted would happen when Holdenville Coaches had a chance to work with their teams! The boys added 2 wins to their record in the week prior to the Christmas Break and the girls played 2 extremely competitive games that registered in the almost column. The boys beat a solid 4A Seminole team at Seminole by a score of 6561 and then returned home to notch a 69-57 win over Stroud.

The Holdenville Wolverine basketball teams had some growing pains in their first week of the 2025-2026 basketball season. The Wolverines are young and the opening week’s schedule was filled with really good teams.

The Holdenville Wolverine boys’ team traveled to Wewoka on Tuesday and although they didn’t win they managed to play well enough to convince folks that Coach Snow could have a highly competitive team. The Wolverines are young and have very few starters returning from last year’s team.
