2 Dead, 4 injured in devastating tornado

A four-monthold child and Jimmy Johnson, III, of Holdenville were killed in the Saturday night tornado that ripped through Holdenville. Four others were injured and Tyler and Selina Skeen, parents of the four-monthold, remain in the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Marlene Camille Woods was born August 1, 1932 in Stockton, California, to Harlow and Bessie Magnussen. The first child and eldest daughter; a child of the Great Depression and WWII. Marlene was a true example of the resilient and determined generation that these two events proved to develop.

HSPS Spring Art Show Open House Sunday, May 5

The Holdenville Society of Painters and Sculptors is holding its 2024 Spring Art Show at the HSPS Art Center, 118 N. Broadway in Holdenville, from April 28th thru May 10th. The public is invited to attend our Open House on Sunday, May 5th 1:30 to 3:00 to see the winners’ pieces! This show is being generously supported in part by a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
