The Holdenville and Meeker football fans certainly got their money’s worth last Friday!

The fans who waited patiently for their turn to go through the extra security before they could even buy their ticket would have to say the game was worth the extra hassle. Both teams played hard and gave it all they had but as it always is there has to be a winner.

This time Meeker came out on top! The tables were turned last year. Holdenville won last year’s thrilling game at Meeker in overtime!

The Holdenville Wolverines traveled to Wynnewood last Thursday for their final pre-season scrimmage. The temperature hovered above 100 degrees when the clash started and remained hot enough to melt a fan or two before it ended.Snow cones were the top seller at the concession stand! The visitor side faces East in that stadium and the Holdenville fans were battling the sun throughout the afternoon.

Wolverines shine in first scrimmage Holdenville played host to a multiple team scrimmage last Thursday and the Wolverines gave their hometown fans a reason to be optimistic about the upcoming 2023 season. The Konawa Tigers, Hugo Buffaloes and the Okemah Panthers joined Holdenville High at Wolverine Stadium and gave each school’s set of fans a peek at their team’s strengths at this point in the preseason.

Holdenville High School football fans will get their first look at the 2023 Wolverine football team at 6:30 Thursday evening when Konawa and Okemah come to town. The three way scrimmage will give locals a taste of the season to come. Holdenville has practiced for a week and the Wolverines are eager to test their skills against the Panthers and Tigers.
