Jaymie Larney is the granddaughter of the late Virginia Larney and the great-niece of Geneva Larney, both of whom were part of the Moss High School team that won a fastpitch state championship in 1959. Jaymie’s parents are Jim (Seminole Nation of Oklahoma) and Landrea Larney (Navajo Nation).

Jim and Zelda Ragland have only one son—they named after his Dad—Jim Junior. Young Jim was reared here in Hughes County—in fact James J. Ragland, now a missionary was a resident of nearly every school District that we had in the County during his lifetime.

Will Rogers and Harry in New York Harry and I served on the same ship once upon a time. The USS Johnnie Hutchins out on the East Coast. He reads my weekly column faithfully there in Hoosac Falls in upstate New York. I guess Harry still goes to church just across the line over in Vermont — about 8 or 9 miles from his house. His pastor up there is named Mary Beth. She, too, reads my stories in the Allen Advocate, and I added her name to my list. Thanks Rev. Mary Beth. Heck, I should make her my Vermont correspondent. Not many other Advocate customers up that way, but welcome.
