The Holdenville Wolverines traveled to Antlers to participate in the first of two pre-season scrimmages. And, as always the coaches have found some things to be pleased about and some things that need improvement.

At the recent Holdenville City Council meeting, Holdenville General Hospital (HGH) CEO Steve Stewart provided a detailed update on the hospital’s operations, finances, and upcoming events. Stewart said July was a frustrating month financially.

For the first time ever, the City of Holdenville has approved an increase to its late fees on water bills. The fee, which had been set at 1%, will now rise to 10%.

Boys will always have professional athletes and musicians to look up to, but as the New York Times’s Claire Cain Miller correctly notes, it is the adults that children “personally know” and see on a daily basis who have the most positive effect on children.

They include Linda Hollis, Pat Holliday and Mary Ellen Ewing, top row, Carole McLarty, Pat Jones and LaVerne Mayfield, bottom row. Mrs. Jim Hamilton will sponsor the pep club and Patsy Bartlett will head the group as president. Other officers are Linda Renfrow, vice president, Phyllis McLean, secretary. The “Wolverettes” decided on gold v-neck sweaters and navy blue skirts as their uniforms for this year.
