Softball And Cross Country begins Friday.

Holdenville High School Head Softball Coach, Rick Scott is definitely looking forward to the beginning of softball season. Scott will begin the season without several stellar players who have graduated and moved on to play college ball. In spite of this tremendous loss of talent Coach Scott remains optimistic about the upcoming season.

The Holdenville Softball Program will host a youth camp for students in K-6 grade on July 19 & 20. The camp will begin each day at12 noon and conclude at 2:30. The campers should report to the softball complex with gloves, water bottles, sunscreen and a swimsuit.

Holdenville Cheerleaders Win Awards The 2022-23 school year is rapidly approaching and one of this year’s athletic squads has already established it’s self as an elite award winning team. The 2022-23 Holdenville High School Cheer Squad has been to summer camp and has won several awards! Coach Leslie Phillips’ group won awards for National Cheerleading Top Team Band Chant, won the Spirt Stick Award two days in a row, and secured two Awards for Excellence, and one Award for Superior! Coach Phiilips expressed her excitement when she expressed her thoughts on her team’s performance: “We attended OU cheer camp where they learned new stunts, cheers, and chants for upcoming seasons.
The Holdenville High School Cheer Squad won numerous awards at the National Cheer Association Cheer Camp! Squad members are: Coach Leslie Phillips,Natalie Jennings, Peytyn Lockhart Sneed, Lily Scroggins, Audrey Miller, Makaylie Crawford, Tristin Goodman, Mylisha Allen, Sierra Crawford, Sara Coats, Gracie Story, Makenzie Fowler, Justice Morris, and the cutie on her lap is coach’s assistant Laycie Lucas.

Softball Crazy! The state of Oklahoma has gone softball crazy! The Sooners are national champions and the Oklahoma State Cowboys narrowly missed a chance to play for the national title! Rogers State won the NCAA Division 2 national championship! Oklahoma City University won the NAIA championship! My first experience with fast pitch softball came in 1984 when Prague called and asked me to umpire an Invitational tournament. I had umpired a great deal of summer slow pitch games and this would be my first experience with fast pitch.
Cheyenne Fixico was presented with an All-State Plaque at the awards banquet. Fixico played for the winning team from the East! Cheyenne went 1-2 at the plate, with RBI and then later scored a run in her team’s 7-5 victory.

Wolverines enjoy Post-Season contests The 2021-2022 Holdenville High School athletic seasons may be over for most Wolverine athletes but a good many have been selected for post-season all-star games. Emmy Mariott, Cheyenne Fixico, Josiah McPerryman and Jordan Stafford all participated in the Ada Area All-Star Classic.
The Wolverines put in some hard work during spring football. Wolverine Head Coach,David Barker, is putting his crew through some tough Summer Pride workouts in preparation for the 2022 season

Wolverines shine at team camp The Holdenville Wolverine Football team traveled to Atoka this past week and made a positive showing. The 2022 team surprised the participating coaches with an outstanding performance on both offense and defense.

Dustin Ford

Dustin Ford is the newest member of the University of Oklahoma Cheer Squad. Dustin recently graduated from Southwestern Christian University and plans to attend the University of Oklahoma in the fall to further his education. He was selected to be a part of the OU Coed cheer team. Dustin is the son of Dane and Laura Ford.
