Weather alters sports’ schedules The Wolverine track team was suppose to run at Okemah but that meet was postponed until April 15. The softball team was supposed to have two teams here on Friday but only one was able to make it.

Wolverine softball team wins trophy The Holdenville softball team traveled to Okmulgee last week to play in the Bull Dog Classic and won the second place trophy. The Wolverines defeated Liberty 15-2, McAlester 15-3 and Dewar 8-6 to earn their way into the finals.

Let the Spring Games Begin On Sunday there was an equal number of minutes of daily light and dark…Ergo…..the first day of Spring! Spring Break is over! School is back in session! It’s time for Spring Sports! The Holdenville softball team has a full schedule, and weather permitting, will play everyday except Wednesday. Coach Scott’s team is scheduled to travel to Chandler on Monday, travel to Western Heights on Tuesday and play in the 2022 Okmulgee Slow Pitch Tournament Thursday thru Saturday.
Holdenville baseball player, Sawyer Jeffery, is this week’s scholar athlete of the week. Sawyer is a standout in both the classroom and on the athletic field.

THE WOLVERINE DELEGATION JOINED HOLDENVILLE’S LEGENDARY HEAD COACH, JOHN DAUGHERTY’S cousin, Anne, when Holdenville’s 1942 state championship team was honored at the 2022 state basketball tournament. Laquita Turner, Laeh’Lah Bowen, Amie Johnson, Athletic Director Darin Johnson,Tom Turner, Anne Daugherty, Ladonna Merkel, David Merkel and Dane Robinson all stood at mid-court as the 1942 team was honored.

Great Day to be a Wolverine Every day is a great day to be a Holdenville Wolverine! But…… Some days are better than most. Last Friday a small group of Wolverines make the snowy trip to the state tournament games at the ‘Big House’ at the State Fair Arena to witness the honoring of the 1942 State Basketball Championship.

1942 State Champions to be honored The date and time has been set for the recognition of the Wolverines 1942 state champion basketball squad. The recognition will be held at the state fairgrounds arena during the state tournament games on Friday.
The Wolverine of the Week honors and the Scholar Athlete of the Week honors go to the seniors that completed the basketball season. Emmy Mariot ,Liberty Jackson, Cheyanne Fixico, Laeh’Lah Bowen, Jessica Moore and Emma Factor have earned those honors by being leaders on the 2021-22 Wolverine basketball team and all of the girls are scheduled to graduate this spring.

Weather alters basketball play-off schedule The icy weather has altered the basketball state playoff schedule. The Holdenville boys’ and girls’ team were scheduled to play on Thursday but the road conditions didn’t improve enough for the teams to make it to the tournament sites until Saturday.

Moss School to Host Donkey Basketball Game

New rodeo stars will be born during the wild and crazy “Dairyland Donkey Basketball Show” at Moss School Gymnasium on March 6, 2022 starting at 4:00 pm! It is basketball played on real, live donkeys and it will be wilder than a rodeo and funnier than a circus! All local players will be riding, so come out and see someone you know try to ride a donkey and play basketball at the same time. It’s a thrill a minute, a spill a minute. Laugh as you’ve never laughed before at the wild and crazy Donkey Basketball show!
