Sawyer Jeffrey is the Holdenville News Wolverine of the Week. Jeffrey caught a long touchdown pass and out ran the Meeker defenders to the end zone. Sawyer’s touchdown catch tied the score at 14-14.

Wolverines wins In overtime! The Holdenville Wolverines beat a solid Meeker Bulldog team last Friday for their second win of the year! That’s as many wins as the Wolverines have won in the last three years! It was definitely a thriller and if you weren’t there you missed one of the finest high school football games that anyone would ever hope to see! The Wolverines scored on their first possession when Izaia King crossed the goal line from 11 yards out. Tatum Sanford added a 2 point conversion run and Holdenville had an early 8-0 lead.
The Holdenville High School Cheerleaders were adding their support to the football team in the Wolverines 20-14 win over Meeker. Wolverines Wallop Tigers 70-0. 70-0! Is that score right? That was the big question of the weekend ! And….every time, the answer was the same! The Wolverines completely dominated their rival! Holdenville scored early and often and it was a rout! The entire game could have been summarized after the first possession.
Holdenville’s Mike Larney, and Malichi Henderson lead the way for running back, Clayton Lavalley in the Wolverines 70-0 win over Wewoka. Holdenville will travel to Meeker this Friday to face off with the Bulldogs.

The Holdenville Wolverine softball team had a break out week! The Wolverines split with Allen Monday, swept Eufaula on Tuesday and then picked up a couple of wins in the 66 Conference Tournament. Holdenville picked up their first win of the year with a 10-9 victory over Allen. Then promptly whipped Eufaula 10-0 and 11-1. Holdenville got on the scoreboard with a 2 run scoring double by Belle McFarland in the Wolverine’s 10-0 win over Eufaula and Cylee Null took advantage of the lead and pitched her first no hitter of the year. The Wolverines added 8 more runs to increase the margin to 10-0 and Holdenville had put together a huge breakout win.
