Ms. Lowry posted on Facebook: “GOOD STORY ALERT: Okkkkkk, this is just the sweetest. 9-yearold Grayson Poulain wrote this letter to injured OKC Thunder star rookie Chet Holmgren. Anyone know this kid? We would love to interview him (yes, with his parents’ permission).”

Wolverines crush Coalgate 48-6

The Holdenville Wolverines earned their 6th win of the year last Thursday with a lopsided 48-6 win at Coalgate. The Wolverines scored 3 touchdowns in the first quarter and put the game out of reach by scoring 3 more touchdowns in the second quarter. Cash Carter scored Holdenville’s first touchdown on a 32 yard run with 8:39 remaining in the first quarter. Izaia King scored less than 2 minutes later on a 52 yard run and Cy Tiger added a 2 point conversion to up the score to 14-0. King scored again on a 13 yard run in the closing seconds of the first stanza and Tatum Sanford added 2 more points on the conversion to raise the score to 22-0.
1562 - Tatum Sanford is the Holdenville News Wolverine of the Week. Tatum is one of the leaders on the Holdenville defense.

Wolverines Win a Thriller! In times past most of the Wolverine fans would have been long gone before the last 16 seconds of the fourth quarter! The band and cheerleaders would have stayed along with the parents and close friends of the players but everyone else would have been in their vehicles trying to escape what ever small amount of traffic that accompanied a Holdenville football game. The Golden Pride would have been entertaining the few Wolverine faithfuls that remained.

The Holdenville Wolverines traveled to Tishomingo last Friday for an all important district contest. The outcome was a 42-8 lop sided Holdenville Wolverine victory. Holdenville completely dominated the Tishomingo Indians from the opening kick-off to the final gun.
Holdenville defensive tackle # 62 Donovann Gibbs, grabs a Tishomingo running back while # 50 Julius Jackson and # 9 Cash Carter close in to help. The Holdenville defense dominated the Tishomingo offense in the Wolverines 42-8 victory.

Wolverines lose a nail biter It’s been less than 2 years since the Holdenville Wolverines made a trip to Davis for a Covid related play-off game. That was 2020.
Holdenville quarterback # 11, Izaia King, handles the snap from center while # 5, Cy Tiger, prepares to clear the path of defenders. Holdenville and Davis both scored 4 touchdowns but Davis converted more points after touchdowns to edge the Wolverines 32-26.
