Services Held for Louis Woods

Louis Roy Woods passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the age of 89 years.

Louis was one of nineteen children, the son of William and Lona (Birdwell) Woods, born on November 26, 1932, in Fletcher, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in the Marlow area. He worked several years as a supervisor for Sylvester Construction Company in Holdenville, overseeing complex projects such as building dams and sewer plants. He owned and operated Woods Backhoe Service and he was a cattle rancher, keeping up both occupations until the day before his passing. When he wasn’t working, his favorite pastime was working - maintaining his equipment, clearing brush, pulling weeds, he just loved to work.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lona Woods; daughter Kay Lynn Stone; grandson Joshua Ybarra; and several siblings.

He is survived by four daughters, Sharon Byas of Ada, Tina Whitley (Scott) of Enid, Stephanie Bryant of Arkansas, and Marsha Woods of Enid; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; brother Ray Woods of Yeager; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A memorial visitation was held at Fisher Funeral Home-Lillye Chapel on Sunday, March 20, 2022.
