Jess “Mickey” Freeman

Jess “Mickey” Freeman Jr. passed away Saturday, September 26th, 2026 at his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 87.

Mickey was born April 9th, 1939 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Jess Freeman and Margaret (Alexander) Freeman. He received his Associate Degree from Rose State College. Mickey worked as an Aviation Low Voltage Technician for the FAA. He married Ruth Douglas in November 1983 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mickey served in the US Army stationed in Korea and later retired from the Air National Guard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holdenville. Mickey was a longtime member of Glorieta Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed going to church and traveling on mission trips with the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief. He loved spending time with family and friends.

Mickey is preceded in death by his parents Jess and Margaret Freeman, 2 sons, Jo Freeman and Justin “Ayo” Freeman, siblings; Mary Arkeketa, Richard Freeman, Patrick Freeman, Ted Freeman, William Freeman and Donna Sue Rhodes. He is survived by his wife Ruth Freeman of the home, children; Kim Freeman of Hominy, OK, Natasha Freeman Sotello of Moore, OK, Mitchell Katcv Freeman of Tulsa, OK, 12 grandchildren, a few great grandchildren and brother John Freeman and wife Betty of Tulsa, OK. Mickey is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are James Sotello, Jason Freeman, Patrick Freeman Jr., Schuyler Deal, Ben Nenaikita and Antone Nenaikita.

Viewing will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29th and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30th at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home. Mickey will be taken to the First Baptist Church in Holdenville at 4:00 p.m. for the Wake Service beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville with Pastor James Poulain officiating.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma.
