Our sympathy is extended to the family of Richard Nolen
Richard Earl Nolen, 78, of Holdenville passed away on September 16th, 2025 in his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born on November 9th, 1946 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to his parents Kenneth “Tommy” Nolen and Dean (Payne) Nolen Willis. Richard attended and graduated Holdenville high school in 1965. He was on the basketball state champion team and he also earned his Bachelor of Science at OSU. Richard later married the love of his life Sharon Stringfellow September 9, 1967 at Banner Baptist Church, the two spent 58 years together. Richard enjoyed playing guitar, coon hurting, building fence, bailing hay, quail hunting telling stories, most of all, he enjoyed his friends and family.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth “Tommy” Nolen and Dean Nolen Willis, and his sister Cathy Livingston. Richard is survived by his wife Sharon Nolen, of the home, his children Danny Nolen and wife Michelle of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Kevin Nolen and wife Patty of Holdenville, Oklahoma, his grandchildren Karson Nolen, Harlee Nolen, Heston Nolen along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Viewing for Richard will be held Thursday, September 18th, from 2pm - 7pm. and Friday September 19th, 9am - 7pm, at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville. Family will greet guests Friday, September 19th, 2025 from 5pm -7pm.
Pallbearers include: Bruce Foster, Chub Moeller, David Foster, Goose Gordon, James Welch, and Andy Wood.
Honorary Pallbearers Include: Grandkids, Jim Turner, Mark Brown, Joe French, Billy Brown, Jackie Mills, Bob Sherry, Walt Sherry, Bud McCoy, Dewayne Cox, Gary Whitton. Bryan Wilson, Mike Goodson, Randy Brown and Shane Brooks.
Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Saturday September 20th at 2:00PM with Pastor Bart Patterson officiating.
Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hudson- Phillips Funeral Home.
