Our sympathies extended to the families of... Weldon Thetford

Weldon Thetford passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 in his home in Holdenville at the age of 83.

Weldon was born August 14, 1938 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Luther “L.E.” Ervie Thetford and Hattie Victoria Brittain Thetford. He graduated from Holdenville High School. Weldon married Mary Ellen Foster on February 5, 1960 in Capital Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Holdenville. Weldon was a firefighter with the Holdenville Fire Department. He worked 20 years for Willis Wholesale. Weldon enjoyed square dancing, hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with family.

Weldon is preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Ellen; siblings Harmon and wife Leola Thetford, Winford and wife Margaret Thetford, Lenora and husband Leonard Calhoun, Barbara and husband Gayle Grier, and Bernice Thetford.

He survived by his sons Dan Thetford and wife Nancy of Holdenville, and Ron and wife Tricia Thetford of Holdenville; grandchildren Nicole Brown, and Megan McCoy; great-grandchildren Kasen McCoy, Asher McCoy, Hunter Brown and Quinn Brown. Weldon is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 4 ^th , at Holdenville Cemetery, Holdenville, Oklahoma with Pastor Jim Crawford officiating.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
