Kermit Robinson, Sr.
Kermit Wayne Robinson Sr. passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the age of 78 years.
Kermit was born on March 8, 1944, in Portales, New Mexico to James Wesley Robinson and Viola (Netzel) Robinson. He was raised on dairy farms in New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma. He attended Moss and Gum Springs schools until the end of sixth grade when he left school and began working full time on the family farm. He joined the U.S. Army and served eight years, the majority of the time in Vietnam. He returned to Holdenville and worked for many years in the oil field, and also for the Oklahoma State Highway Department, where he worked until retirement. He loved visiting with everyone, fishing, camping, and coon hunting.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Viola Robinson; one brother, Frank Wesley Robinson; and one sister, Louise Gregory.
He is survived by two sons, Kermit Wayne ‘Smiley’ Robinson Jr. (Lori) of Holdenville, and Wesley Scott Robinson (Jill) of Roff; five grandchildren, Brandon Robinson and Bradley Robinson, both of Holdenville, Breanna Robinson of Norman, Hunter Robinson of Stratford, and Bill Tippin of Roff; two brothers, Alan Robinson of Holdenville and Ronnie Robinson (Sharon) of Tok, Alaska; one sister, Rose Davis of Noble; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside memorial services with military honors were held at Bilby/Glory Cemetery in Holdenville, 2:00 p.m., on Monday, April 18 th , with Rev. Mike Deer officiating. www.fisherfh.net
