Jerry Lawson Lowe passed away at his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Monday, July 8, 2024, at the age of 61 years, surrounded by his family. Jerry was the son of Melvin H. Lowe and Verdie Evelyn (Meeks) Lowe, born on July 4, 1963, in Merced, California. His grandparents, Hubert & Minnie Lowe, raised him after the death of his mother. The family left California and traveled to Texas, and finally found their way to Holdenville in 1978.

Jerry graduated Fort Campbell High School in Kentucky in 1984, then joined the U.S. Army. He served six years and came home to Holdenville to take care of his grandpa after the death of his grandma. He met Rajina Engel in Holdenville and married her on January 15, 1989. He worked at various jobs. Jerry loved his family. He loved to garden, hunt, fish, grill, tinker with any small engine and, most of all, he loved to tease everyone just for a reaction and a laugh.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Verdie Lowe; his grandparents, Hubert and Minnie Lowe; his son, Da’Shane Lowe; uncle and aunt, PeeWee and Twila Hendrix; aunt Reba Woodruff; uncle Larry Hamilton; mother-inlaw Nanette Wagoner; brotherin- law Johnny Bell; a friend who was like a brother, Keith Walton; brother Lou Lowe, and four sisters: Janice, Barbara, Linda, and Sharon. He is survived by his wife of thirtyfive years, Rajina Lowe, of the home; his daughter, Summer Lowe (Delion Shepherd); two grandchildren, Mikaya Lay and Da’zane Shepherd, all of Holdenville; two sisters-inlaw, Michelle Bell and Sharla Crowell, both of Holdenville; nieces and nephews: Harley Bell, Destiny Bell, Jeffery Crowell, Pa’tan May (Zack), Bradley Crowell (Tatum), all of Holdenville, and Melvin, Matt, Britany, and Ashley, all of Amarillo, Texas; great-nieces and great-nephews Ember May, Asher May, and Lawton Crowell; two aunts, Donna Hamilton and Johnie ‘Mona’ Kanada; other family members and many friends.
