Arnold Louis Shores

Arnold Louis Shores, 90, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in McAlester.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel with Monte Busby officiating. The burial will follow at Holdenville Cemetery, Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be: Ron Shores, Jake Sparks, Ken Schiwart, Lonnie Silas, Specer Silas and Cade Harkins.

Arnold was born on January 20, 1932 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Lester J. Shores and Edna Marie (Terry) Shores. He married Myrtle Wilson.

He is survived by his wife: Myrtle (Wilson) Shores of McAlester; his son: Ronald Shores and wife, Cheryl of Seminole; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; his sisters: Shirleen Roark of Idaho, Kathy Schiwart and husband, Kenny of Wilburton, and Judy Shores of Wilburton; and his brother: Marvin Shores and wife, Pat of California.

Arnold is preceded in death by his parents: Lester and Edna Shores; his daughter: Karen Rae Shores Robbins; and his brothers: Russell Shores, Kenneth Shores, Jimmy “Jim” Shores, and Wilburn Shores.
