A Great Week to be a Wolverine This is a great time to be a Wolverine! The Holdenville High School football team defeated a solid North Rock Creek team that was ranked 5th in two classes above the Wolverines (Class 3A). The Wolverine softball squad continues to improve! The Wolverines swept two games in run rule fashion from Crooked Oak! The Cross Country coaches hosted two meets.
The Golden Pride trombone section gave an impressive performance during the playing of the National Anthem prior to Holdenville’s football game with North Rock Creek. Holdenville trounces Okemah 68-0 The Wolverine’s contest with Okemah was over at the end of the first quarter. Holdenville rolled up a 32-0 lead before the horn sounded to end the first stanza and the only question that remained was the final score.
HOLDENVILLE BAND DIRECTOR, SAM CROSBY, WAS BEAMING WITH PRIDE AFTER HIS TRUMPET SECTION DID AN AMAZING JOB DURING THE PLAYING OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM. Wolverines trounce Wewoka 52-0 The Holdenville Wolverines traveled to Wewoka for their season opener and came away with a decisive 52-0 victory. The fans that made the 6 mile trip down highway 270 weren’t disappointed with the lopsided win.

Wolverines Show Improvement in Scrimmage The Wolverines participated in their second scrimmage of the pre-season last Thursday and according to Coach Barker, the team showed signifi cant improvement. “The players had several areas of growth from the first scrimmage to the second.
One problem with keeping score in scrimmages is that turnovers and penalties don’t hurt you. Also there’s no kicking game......The Wolverines will travel to Wewoka this Friday for their season opener.... (notice the obvious holding in the middle).

Softball Team Falls in Extra Innings The Holdenville Wolverine fast pitch softball team played their best game of the year on Friday and lost to an extremely good Little Axe team in extra innings.Holdenville trailed 4-2 going into the bottom of the seventh. Autumn Jackson started the rally with a base hit to center field.
The Holdenville Middle School Girls’ Cross Country team was all lined up and ready to run at Holdenville Lake. The girls raced one mile. Team members are:Left to Right: Autumn Doane, Lilly Leftwich, McKenzie Foster, Lainey McMinn, Maylee Barnett, Miracle Parish, Hailey Mcculley, Makaya Aguilar, and Sheleigh Fixico.

Softball season opens Holdenville High School sports seasons get underway this week. Coach Angel Johnson’s softball team will open their season at Lexington on Monday and then travel to Lindsay on Tuesday.
Holdenville Head Coach, Angel Johnson was a bit animated when she gave this series of instructions to this group of Wolverines. Coach Johnson and her staff are constantly teaching the game of softball to their players.
