The unpredictable Oklahoma weather has postponed the start of the post Holiday basketball season. The Wolverines were scheduled to play three games last week in the Konawa Tournament but the Oklahoma weather drenched the area with a beautiful nine inch snow.
These two men made the fall of 2024 fun! Holdenville enjoyed an awesome football season! Wolverine football coach, David Barker and Golden Pride Band Director Sam Crosby united the Holdenville Community through their ability to produce a winning football team and a award winning band.

When asked about his teams’ practices over the Christmas Break, Holdenville head coach, Dillion Snow, praised his boys’ and girls’ basketball team for their hard work and progress. Now it’s time to put that progress to work.

Wolverines Earn Awards The 2024 football season will be one to remember for a multitude of reasons. The Wolverines finished the season undefeated and earned the District 2A-2 championship trophy and the team received the Academic Achievement Award for their outstanding work in the classroom.
Holdenville Wolverine second baseman, Bella Smith, was selected to the All-District Team. Bella was also recognized for her outstanding performance as a pitcher.

The Holdenville High School Girls’ Basketball team picked up a couple of dominating wins this week. The girls whipped Wewoka 55-34 on Tuesday and traveled to Meeker on Friday and defeated the Bulldogs 47-39.
HOLDENVILLE HIGH SCHOOL HAD TWO PLAYERS THAT EARNED ALL-STATE HONORS DURING THE 2023-2024 BASKETBALL SEASON. Ryleigh Hill and Madi Bell McFarland were honored during Holdenville’s game with Wewoka and presented with All-State Jackets. Hill and McFarland wore their jackets while they posed for a picture with Holdenville Head Coach, Dillion Snow.

Holdenville Boys win one and lose one

The Holdenville Boys began the week with a 39 - 50 loss to Wewoka and finished the week with 75 - 59 road win at Meeker. The Wolverines were coming off a stellar week that produced a championship trophy in the prestigious Antlers Invitational Tournament. Holdenville didn’t shoot the ball well and played without their usual intensity. Holdenville Head Coach Dillion Snow vowed his team would go to work and play better when the team made the trip to Meeker on Friday. The Wolverines did as Coach Snow promised and whipped a good Meeker Bulldog team by a sixteen point margin on Friday.

Wolverines shine in Antlers Tournament The Holdenville girls began the week with an extremely cold shooting night at McLoud but their cold shooting hands turned red hot at the tournament in Antlers. Holdenville lost that game at McLoud by a 35-19 margin.
Bella Smith was looking out of the corner of her eye before passing to a team mate. The Wolverines will host Wewoka on Tuesday and travel to Meeker on Friday.

Wolverines have good opening week The Holdenville Boys and Girls Basketball teams opened the 2024-2025 season in a positive way. Both teams are 2-0 on the season with impressive wins over Seminole and Little Axe.

Wolverines open basketball season Holdenville High School will open the 2024-2025 basketball season on Tuesday when the Wolverines play host to the Seminole Chieftains. The Wolverines are just over a week away from the end of football season and many of the boys who starred on the gridiron are expected to play a significant role on the hard wood.

Football is a funny game! The game is played with a funny shaped oblong ball! The shape of the ball indicates that it will take odd bounces! The ball didn’t bounce Holdenville’s way in the state quarterfinal match-up with the Colcord Hornets. The final score of 36-14 would indicate that Colcord is three touchdowns better than the Wolverines but in analyzing the contest it would be easy to say that the Hornets got all the breaks.
Things were extremely tough upfront in the Wolverines’ game with Colcord. The Hornets were big and physical. Holdenville defenders # 0, Abe Gomez, # 22, Sawyer Jeffrey,#55 Brayden Black, # 30 Bo Black, # 7, Brett Bruner, # 14, Xavier Randall, # 16,Kaden Rogers and # 12 Jordan Harjo met the challenge of the bigger Colcord players.
