Wolverines earn honors The Holdenville Wolverine Girls’ Basketball team finished the regular season undefeated in 66 Conference play and emerged as conference champions. The Conference has awarded top honors to Madi McFarland as the 66 Conference Player of the Year.

Holdenville High School Basketball Coach, Dillion Snow, has been named the 66 Conference Boys’ Coach of the Year and the 66 Conference Girls’ Coach of the Year. Both the Holdenville High School girls and boys had outstanding seasons.
Bo Black started on the mound in Holdenville’s home opener game against Casady. The Wolverines posted 2 wins against 2 losses in the first week of the 2024 season.

Holdenville Girls Fall in Area The Holdenville High School girls’ basketball team went into the area with high hopes of making it to the state tournament. Very few Wolverine basketball teams have ever made it to state and this squad almost became one of those rare state tournament teams that earned a spot in the bracket.
Isabella ( Bella ) Smith is the Holdenville News Scholar Athlete of the Week. Bella is a straight “A” student and a standout on both the Wolverine softball and basketball team.

Wolverines win Regional Championship The Holdenville High School girls basketball team earned the Regional Championship Trophy last Saturday by whipping the Millwood Falcons on their home floor. The Wolverines led throughout the game but had to fight off a late 4th quarter Falcon surge to bring home the championship hardware, Holdenville jumped out to a 24-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and expanded the lead to 31-12 at the half.
Kase Sipes looks beyond a Casady defender in the Wolverines first round of the Regional Tournament. Sipes scored 10 points in the contest.

Wolverines Win District The Holdenville boys’ and girls’ basketball teams earned district championships with impressive wins over the Henryetta Knights! The girls began the Saturday night contests with a 7235 win and the boys followed with a 70-50 win. The District Championship plaque was the second trophy the girls earned last week.
Holdenville Wolverine big man, Gage Smith, fights with a Stroud defender for rebound position. The Wolverines defeated the Tigers 70-54.
