Service to be Held for Wilena Waldroup Scott

Willena (Waldroup) Scott of Holdenville, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on August 29, 2026 at the age of 86. She was born December 24, 1939, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to her parents Amon and Ruth (Sanders) Young.

Willena attended Yeager Schools and later graduated from Holdenville High School. She was a talented basketball player. In her Junior year at Yeager, their team played in the state basketball tournament. Her team narrowly lost the championship after they all developed the measles before the game.

She dedicated her life to God, her family, friends, and a successful banking career spanning over 30 years. She retired as the Vice President of First National Bank in Holdenville. Willena was the first female member of the Holdenville Rotary Club. She also served as the President of the Southeastern Oklahoma Banking Association. She was a perfect example of strong leadership, exceptional management, and focused on serving her customers and community.

Outside of her career, Willena loved working in her yard and tending to her flower beds. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with the people she loved. Above all, she was an amazing mother, an even better grandmother, and proud great-grandmother,. She found time to balance it all, the career, home and family. She kept a beautiful home, cooked amazing meals and was the loving matriarch of the family. She excelled in spoiling the great grandkids when they arrived. Her grace, beauty, friendliness and professionalism was admire by everyone who knew her.

Willena was proceeded in death by her parents, spouse Harold Waldroup, her son-in-law Les White, brother Fayne Young, brother-in-law Elbert Clark, and spouse Doug Scott.

She is survived by her daughters Anita Price and Tina White; grandchildren Christina and Jose Guevara and Taylor Shipley; great-grandchildren Adriana and Mateo Guevara; siblings Jerry Young, Sam and Gloria Young, Carolyn Young, Irma Clark, Paul and Jo Fixico. She enjoyed and loved her bonus family of Lin Lee, Chad Price, Ellechupco Harris and his daughters Autumn, Gracie, Aiyana and Anika Harris, along with many other family and friends.

Willena leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, strength, fairness and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever treasured by family and friends.

Pallbearers are Ellechupco Harris, George Massad, Randy Price, Walt Sherry, Lee Shipley, and Gary Whitton. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Briggs, Mandy (Young) Crockett, Jose Guevara, Richard O’Donnley, Chad Price, Crystal Sherry, and Tomaletta Snyder.

Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m Wednesday, September 2nd and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3rd at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Holdenville with Pastor Dustin Long officiating.

Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
