Cleta “Gaylene” Freeman, 66, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at her home in Lamar surrounded by her loving family.

Gaylene was born August 20, 1954 in Holdenville to Billy Joe Johnson and Wanda Joy (Reid) Johnson. She graduated from Holdenville High School. Gaylene married Donnie Freeman on June 9, 1972 in Lamar, Oklahoma. She worked as the site manager for the Lamar Senior Citizens before becoming a homemaker in her own home. Gaylene loved flowers, Pepsi, General Hospital, sitting on the porch and spending time with family.

Gaylene is preceded in death by her parents; brother Darrell Joe Johnson; and father-in-law Joel Freeman.

She is survived by her husband, Donnie Freeman of the home; daughter Jenifer Shockley and husband Brent of Lamar; son Brian Freeman and wife Shelly of Lamar; grandson, who was the light of her life, Austin Blake Crawford; brother Dale William Johnson of Holdenville; and mother-in-law June Freeman of Lamar. Gaylene is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside service were 2:00 pm Saturday, December 19 th , at the Lamar Cemetery pavilion with Pastor Marla Chesser officiating.

Pallbearers were Blake Crawford, Trevor Carpenter, Chris Carpenter, Keith McCoy, Mike Freeman and Ron Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Billy McCoy, John Freeman, Charles Gann, Virgil Gann, Stan Walkup, Robert Butcher, Raymond Leader and Brent Shockley.

Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
