Wanda Crawford Shanda

Body
Wanda Corinne Crawford Shanda Our precious Corinne danced into heaven February 18th from her home in Angier, NC at the age of 86. Awaiting her was the love of her life Jim, darling daughter Ginny, son Mike, beloved sisters Joy, Judy, Betty, dear brothers Jack, Tom, and Junior, her adored parents Laura and Leonard along with a host of many relatives. Corinne had a life filled with love and family. Joy flowed from heart as she cared, helped, and shared her life with the less fortunate. Marrying Jim, becoming “my bride” as he lovingly called her, brought them much deserved happiness as they traveled, moved, baked, helped, and loved life. Making her home in California for a while, earned them a chance at owning a restaurant. Working together side by side with her family was one of her fondest memories. Corinne spent her final years loved and cared for by her treasured son Steve, his wife Tracy, and great grandson Josh (now serving in the military in Germany) in Angier, NC. She is also survived by grandsons Chris (Jessica), Greg (Kirsten), and Bill (Sylvia); 10 great grandchildren; sister Mary (Jenny), brother Allen (Barbara), sister in law Helen; nephew David (Ladonna), along with many nieces and nephews who loved Aunt Keene dearly. Corinne was born April 19, 1934, raised, attended school at Lamar (but graduated from Moss), so it’s only fitting that she return “home” for her final resting place surrounded by family at Lamar Cemetery. Internment pending.

Letting Go is Part of Life

We’ve all seen a little kid holding on to a toy, refusing to share, and yelling “MINE!” Sometimes it’s cute but most of the time it’s annoying. We usually end up intervening, prying their little fingers from the item and telling the kid to “let go”.

Good morning to you. Hope you have enjoyed this beautiful snow but I am ready to see dry land again. I don’t remember it ever being this cold and so many days of snow. Springtime sure sounds good now! For our Bible reading today, let’s look at John 13: verses 1-9: (1) Now before the feast of the Passover, when JESUS knew that HIS hour was come that HE should depart out of this world unto the FATHER, having loved HIS own which were in the world, HE loved them unto the end; (2) And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray HIM; (3) JESUS know that the FATHER had given all things into HIS hands, and that HE was come from GOD, and went to GOD; (4) HE riseth from supper, and laid aside HIS garments; and took a towel, and girded HIMSELF. (5) After that HE poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith HE was girded. (6) Then cometh HE to Simon Peter: and Peter said unto HIM, LORD, dost THOU wash my feet? (7) JESUS answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. (8) Peter saith to HIM, THOU shalt never wash my feet. JESUS answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me. (9) Simon Peter saith unto HIM, LORD, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
