As a man, I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born white, into a two-parent household which now, whether I like it or not, makes me “Privileged,” a racist & responsible for slavery. I am a fiscal & moral conservative, which by today’s standards, makes me a fascist because I plan, budget & support myself.

I grew up on my family’s farm outside of the little town of Tribbey Oklahoma in Southern Pottawatomie County. From the time I was old enough to hold a shovel I worked alongside my father and grandfather at our family-owned business drilling water wells and installing water systems. When we weren’t off working, we spent our time on the farm raising cattle and bailing hay. I am thankful for the time I spent working with my father and grandfather, because it showed me what you can accomplish with a good work ethic.

To the Mayor, City Manager of Holdenville, and Editor of the Holdenville News: May 8, 2024 Gentlemen, there are two issues that are of concern with regard to the Holdenville Airport Board. First, conflicts of interest and second, control of financial obligations.

The Holdenville Airport Board is pleased to provide the Federal Fiscal Year 2024-2028 Five-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), which contains critically needed airport improvement projects for the Holdenville Municipal Airport.

It’s been exactly one month since the deadly tornado ripped through the northwest side of Holdenville. Many have been able to move on with their lives as if nothing ever happened, but there are some who will forever be changed by this horrific event.

OKLAHOMA CITY –The Hughes County Rural Water District No. 1 (District) received approval for $620,000 in funding Tuesday from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) to improve the District’s water infrastructure. Construction of upgrades and improvements to the water system will be financed by the Oklahoma American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant program.

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Matthew Kyle Pinson, age 37, of Wewoka, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 51 months in prison for one count of Involuntary Manslaughter, and 51 months in prison for one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, to be served concurrently. Pinson was also sentenced to 57 months in prison for one count of Assault resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, to be served consecutive to the other terms of imprisonment.

At 96 Bob Hogan has been around and done a little bit of everything. Most locals know Bob from his mini years of managing sharps department store in Checotah but before then Bob lived in Holdenville and was the scoutmaster of a local Boy Scout troop in the 1950s.
