The Hughes County District Attorney’s Office and local law enforcement in Hughes County have demonstrated significant progress and improvement in their operations from 2022 to 2023. District Attorney Erik Johnson took office in January of 2023, and since that time, the Hughes County District Attorney’s office has seen a substantial rise in the number of cases filed in 2023 compared to the previous year. This increase reflects the commitment of the office and law enforcement to uphold justice, ensure public safety, and hold offenders accountable for their actions.
