We had a good turnout at the museum yesterday during the Spring Car Show sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, it looked like there was a good turnout for that too. I would like to thank everyone that stopped by to visit the museum and drop some cash into our donation box, $145 was donated! We received lots of comments on the new windows and I would like to thank everyone on this page who donated! And if you are seeing this message and haven’t had a chance to donate, we still have two more window openings to go. The replacement windows are paid for, the first opening is paid for with some left over to go towards material and labor on the other two openings. We still need around $6000 to do the rest of the project. We will be starting soon on the opening nearest 7th street as the sill in those windows are rotten and the glass has dropped down out of the frame at the top. The glass in the center opening is still hanging in there but probably won’t last long. We’re hoping for enough donations to get it done before the end of this year. Holdenville General Hospital (HGH) reported positive financial results for April, indicating a strong month for the hospital. In recognition of its efforts to support the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI), HGH received the prestigious 23 Star Award for being a valuable partner and significantly increasing the number of blood donors. This achievement was made possible through the dedicated work of HGH staff members Trisha Phillips and Jamie Vazquez. The May Blood Drive was notably successful, helping OBI meet the required number of blood units to supply hospitals across Oklahoma. Every blood donation has the potential to save lives, emphasizing the importance of these drives.

As a man, I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born white, into a two-parent household which now, whether I like it or not, makes me “Privileged,” a racist & responsible for slavery. I am a fiscal & moral conservative, which by today’s standards, makes me a fascist because I plan, budget & support myself.

I grew up on my family’s farm outside of the little town of Tribbey Oklahoma in Southern Pottawatomie County. From the time I was old enough to hold a shovel I worked alongside my father and grandfather at our family-owned business drilling water wells and installing water systems. When we weren’t off working, we spent our time on the farm raising cattle and bailing hay. I am thankful for the time I spent working with my father and grandfather, because it showed me what you can accomplish with a good work ethic.

To the Mayor, City Manager of Holdenville, and Editor of the Holdenville News: May 8, 2024 Gentlemen, there are two issues that are of concern with regard to the Holdenville Airport Board. First, conflicts of interest and second, control of financial obligations.

The Holdenville Airport Board is pleased to provide the Federal Fiscal Year 2024-2028 Five-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), which contains critically needed airport improvement projects for the Holdenville Municipal Airport.

It’s been exactly one month since the deadly tornado ripped through the northwest side of Holdenville. Many have been able to move on with their lives as if nothing ever happened, but there are some who will forever be changed by this horrific event.
