TORNADO LEAVES DEVASTATING DAMAGE BEHIND

As the EF-3 tornado ripped through Hughes County, the evening of April 27, 2024, it unleashed its fury on everything in its path for 34 miles. Homes were ripped from their foundations; trees were uprooted, and power lines were downed. The ferocity of the winds was such that even wellbuilt structures were no match, crumbling under the force of the storm.

IAN VILLARREAL

Ian “Big E” Villarreal is the son of Amanda Newman and Matthew Villarreal. He began attending Moss Schools his freshmen year. He has been active in Track, Academic Team, National Guard, BPA, Fish Club and Wes Watkins. He won 2nd Place at State in the Graphic Design competition, the Torch Award Ambassador, Perfect Attendance and Student of the Month. Ian credits his National Guard recruiter, Sgt. Blasengame, with helping him achieve his goals. His favorite subject is Personal Finance. He plans to be a professional graphic designer, a military sniper, and own many houses, which he will rent out to earn passive income. To achieve this, he will go to ECU and earn his associates of applied science for Graphic Design. He hopes to have about 3 kids and a loving wife. He does not intend to have pets, but if he does then he will be a Russian bear dog.

ALEX-TERRY PAIGE SUMMY

Alex-terry Paige Summy, also known as Allie or AllieKat is the daughter of Mary and Terry Summy. She has attended Moss Schools since first grade. Her activites include volunteering at her church. She attributes her mom and her pastor with helping her achieve her goals. English is her favorite subject, and she wants to get her CDA after high school.

SHAY STAMBAUGH

Shay Stambaugh, also known as “Misbehaven”, is the daughter of Kersten Stambaugh and has attended Moss schools for the past six years. She has been active in Softball, FFA and Fish Club. Her awards include, All-Conference, State FFA Degree. She creditsherparentsforhelping her achieve her goals. Her favorite subject is Math. She plans to attend college at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology to major in Pipeline Integrity Technology for two years.

CAITLYNN ROSENOW

Caitlynn Rosenow is the daughter of Matthew and Kimberly Rosenow. She began attending Moss Schools in 2015-16. She was active in Cheer, Fish Club, FFA and NHS. Her awards and honors include Superintendent’s Honor Roll, FFA President, EOSC Soils Team, Mark Mekgee Memorial Scholarship, FFA Degree. She attributes her success to her family and the Moss school staff. Her favorite subject is Yearbook. She plans to attend Eastern Oklahoma State College to obtain her associate degree in agriculture education. She will then transfer to Oklahoma State University to obtain her bachelor’s degree in agriculture education.

MARLINA RICHMOND

Marlina Richmond, also known as “Marli” is the daughter of Walter and Jo Richmond. She has attended Moss Schools since Pre-K and has been active in Cheer (2 years) and Fish Club (4 years). She has received her certification in Radiology Aide from WWTC. She attributes her success to her parents and the Moss High School staff. Her favorite subject is Medical Terminology. She plans to enjoy her summer vacation and then attend Seminole State College in the fall to obtain her associate degree in health science allies. Following my associate degree, she would like to obtain a Radiology Technologist degree. She has not yet decided on a college, however she plans to have fun no matter what.

ALEEAH RICH

Aleeah Rich’s parents are her mother, Nicole Engle, her stepfather, Daniel Engle and her father, Corey Rich. She started attending Moss School in 2016-17. She was active in MHS Cheer, National Honor Society and Fish Club. She was on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. Her family and teachers throughout her school years are attributed with her success. Her future plans are to attend college online and obtain a degree in Business Administration. Following receiving her degree, she will work towards getting her realtor’s license to become a real estate agent.

JOSHUA PUGH

Joshua Pugh is the son of Travis Pugh and Henrietta Pugh. He has attended Moss School during the fall 2015 and spring of 2016 and the fall of 2021 through the spring of 2024. He was active in Cross Country, Track, Academic Team, NHS. He qualified for the state Cross-Country meet in fall of 2023 and was listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. He gives God and his parents the credit for his success. His favorite subject is Personal Finance. He plans to enroll at Northeastern State University and pursue a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science.
