Kitt Wakeley is an American Grammy Award-winning composer, songwriter, musician, and music producer. His album Symphony of Sinners & Saints (featuring Joe Satriani) peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Classical Crossover and Classical charts. His singles “Conflicted”, “Forgive Me”, and “Sinners and Saints” all peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Digital Song Sales as well as charting on the Top-10 Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. He has released four studio albums that feature Nuno Bettencourt, Nita Strauss, Kenny Aronoff, Andy Timmons, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and London Voices.

At this year’s Hughes County Junior Livestock Show, the community came together to honor a man whose impact on agricultural education and the lives of countless students is immeasurable. Gerald Roberts, a longtime agricultural education teacher, was recognized for his years of hard work, dedication, and, above all, his care and concern for the students he taught. The show was officially dedicated to both Roberts and his former colleague, Dale Turner, in appreciation of their contributions to agricultural education in Holdenville.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education has released their Oklahoma School Report Cards for the 202324 school year. The information comes from testing done in the spring of 2024. According to www.schoolreportcards. ok.gov, report card measures serve as indicators of how public schools are serving students in a variety of areas. Measured at different points, indicators work together to provide a snapshot of school performance.

Denise Brown has officially filed as a candidate for the Holdenville City Council Ward 2 election, set to take place on April 1, 2025. With extensive experience in public service and a deep commitment to the community, Brown is eager to bring her expertise to the city council.

At its latest meeting, the Holdenville City Council made a key decision regarding the operation of the city pool, voting unanimously to have the city hire seasonal workers to run the facility this summer.
