This month, Oklahoma State Representative David Smith, who serves as the chair, of the Veterans Affairs Committee, with Derrick Hildebrant as Vice Chair (both pictured above) at the state legislature opened the legislative session meeting with his committee. While partisan issues continue to shape many debates at the Capitol, one area where both parties find common ground is supporting Oklahoma’s veterans.

What’s Next The Wolverines will travel to Jones on Thursday to face the Jones Longhorns in the first round of the regional tournament. The Longhorns have the privilege of playing on their home court because they a new modern gymnasium.
Holdenville’s Kmari Earley breaks away the Little Axe defenders on her way to score a basket in the Wolverines’ district championship 67 -19 win. The girls will travel to Jones on Thursday to begin regional tournament play.

Wolverines Win District Championships Coach Dillion Snow’s Holdenville Wolverine Basketball Teams have won both the boys’ and girls’ district championship trophies. The girls started the evening with a dominating 67-19 win over the Little Axe Indians.
DISTRICT CHAMPS,,,,, The Holdenville Girls Basketball Team defeated the Little Axe Indians 67-19 to earn the 2025 District Championship. Team members are: Lexxi Goolsby, Darcy Shepherd, K’mari Earley, Bella Smith, Ally Inselman, Princess O’Neill. Eric Monroe, Leslie Carter, Brittany Skipworth, Mady Richmond, Dillon Snow, Makayla Blackshire, Aaron Laster, Virginia Piza, Myah Olden, Dixie Gamble, Marissa Shaffer.

Choctaw Tribal Councilman District 12, Mr. James Frazier and his lively wife Vicki were presented with a plaque for their many years of support to the Hughes County Premium Sale. 2025 will be James and Vicki’s final year to attend as he will be retiring from the Tribal Council. The plaque was presented by Kibby Swine Farm from the entire Kibby family in gratitude for the many years of friendship and support.
