FIVE MEMBERS OF DRUG TRAFFICKING ORGANIZATION SENTENCED

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that five members of a drug conspiracy were sentenced for federal crimes arising from the distribution of methamphetamine in the Holdenville area.

SPRING SPORT SEASONS BEGIN

It’s reasonable that Holdenville High School sports fans would go through basketball withdrawals. Both the boys and girls have had good seasons. The teams have been exciting to watch. And, this is the time of year that players and coaches are awarded honors for their outstanding coaching and playing. However, as the old cliche’ reminds us…..time marches on.

Holdenville Lions Club had their regular meeting at Boom a Rang Diner on 2-4-25. After the opening flag salute and invocation, the minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Lion Steve Enos gave a report that the Potato Bar fundrais-er grossed approximately $2,675 for our service projects. He stated he still has bills to pay for the use of the cafeteria and the ads in the newspaper. The treasurer’s report was then approved. New Lion Mike Lindley gave a short program regarding some new classes available at Wes Watkins Technology Center for adult students.

THOMAS MIDDLE SCHOOL REPORT CARD

The Oklahoma State Department of Education has released their Oklahoma School Report Cards for the 2023-24 school year. The information comes from testing done in the spring of 2024. According to www.schoolreportcards.ok.gov, report card measures serve as indicators of how public schools are serving students in a variety of areas. Measured at different points, indicators work together to provide a snapshot of school performance.
