Holdenville’s Police Chief Kyle Lening announced his resignation after a year of transformative leadership. Lening took on the challenge of rebuilding the department, which started with just two officers and now stands at ten full-time officers, a fulltime school resource officer, and two part-timers. This expansion led to increased patrols, call responses, and felony cases filed.

The Community Angels will be holding their Bazaar on November 17 from 7:00 am until 2:00 p.m. at the American Legion Building on East Main in Holdenville. (Next to Johnny’s Appliance Center) You won’t want to miss this annual event. There will be lots of beautiful craft items, food items, including cakes, pies and candy.

Holdenville, OK – In a proactive move towards disaster preparedness, Lori Beth Marshall, a dedicated contractor employed by Hughes County, recently convened with key figures in the region. Among those present were Holdenville School Superintendent Randy Davenport, East Central Oklahoma Family Health Center CEO, Donna Dyer, and also Blake Enos, Local Emergency Response Specialist with the Oklahoma State Department of Health. The meeting, coordinated by Hughes County Emergency Manager Mike Dockrey, focused on formulating a comprehensive hazard mitigation plan for the county.
