Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy for the fatal shooting outside the E-Z Mart on South Mekusukey Avenue in Wewoka, which happened around 12 a.m.

ODOC TO RENAME HOLDENVILLE PRISON

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections announced that the Davis Correctional Facility in Holdenville, Okla., will be renamed to honor a fallen correctional officer. Beginning October 1st, the prison will be known as the Allen Gamble Correctional Center.

Sharon Dilday and Diane Bowman hosted the Red Hat Ladies luncheon at K-Mila’s Mexican Restaurant. It is a great place for a meeting and the food is great too! There wasn’t a reading of the minutes or treasurer’s report. Diane gave a beautiful prayer blessing our meeting and the food. Dues and tip money were collected.
