OKLAHOMA CITY – Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, today issued a statement following the final passage of House Bill 1955, by McCall, which eliminates the state’s portion of the grocery tax, through the Oklahoma Senate by a vote of 42-2. The bill was passed by the House 11 months ago, and has been awaiting a vote in the Senate along with an income tax cut.

CITY LIMB AND BRUSH PICKUP BEGINS NEXT WEEK

With winter coming to and end and Spring just around the corner, many area residents are already starting to take advantage of the warmer weather to start trimming back the dead and lengthy limbs on their property. Others may have dead limbs and branches from the summer storms that need to be cleaned up. Street Commissioner Jim Thetford reminds Holdenville residents that the City of Holdenville will be providing the traditional Fall curbside pickup of brush and limbs during the month of October so they can begin planning their yard work strategy.
CITY WIDE BRUSH AND LIMB PICK UP – This map shows the four sections Holdenville has been divided into for brush and limb pickup. Each week a different section will receive free, curbside brush and limb pickup service. All limbs and brush should be placed off the street between the sidewalk and the curb and cut to not over 6’ length.
