Celebrating Thanksearly No, that’s not a typo. I’m suggesting we start giving thanks early this year and not wait until that famous Thursday in late November.

Boy, she sure has a sense of humor for an “older lady”. Hmm, what does THAT mean? Getting older can sometimes mean finding more funny things in life. After all, “I’ve paid my dues!” “I’ve raised my kids.” “I want to have fun.” Aging and getting older should be fun! Aging should include a fun sense of humor.

The North wind was about as strong as you can imagine on a bright January day, long ago on a hilltop called Highland Cemetery South of Stonewall. My wife’s Uncle Jack had died the week before and he wanted to be buried there in Stonewall. So here we all were. I had never met or seen this uncle before, but I noted he looked very respectable in his casket dressed in a fine cowboy suit.

Below is a letter that was shared with us that was originally sent to Governor Stitt from one of our friends and local residents. Honorable Governor Stitt, I am writing you to address the issue of the closure of the DHS office in Holdenville.

As mentioned in a letter to the Tribune by Maxie Carter, I did coach Little League baseball one summer. I think it was in the summer between my Junior and Senior years in high school. It was an enjoyable experience, however, I really don’t remember too many details except for one. I honestly can’t remember what our win-loss record was, but I do remember one game that we played.

Good morning to you. Are you thinking about the problems defining you, just know that GOD can refine our hearts through our problems? I don›t know about you, but it helps me to know that my problems aren›t random, meaningless, or wasted.
