Service Held for Donnie McCarn
Donnie McCarn was born December 23, 1950 in Holdenville. He was born to Robert and Belle McCarn. Donnie grew up and attended school in Holdenville where he excelled in baseball and basketball. After high school, Don worked for Chapman Ranch for several years before going to work as a carpenter with Papa Bob. He then started his career working for Walmart in Loss Prevention. After retiring from Walmart, Don returned to carpentry and building custom homes.
Don was a very talented woodworker and took great joy in making special things for his grandchildren and the rest of the family. He enjoyed baseball from a very young age and devoted countless hours not only to coaching his own children, but many young athletes throughout the community. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and had a lifel ong love of hunting. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren whom he loved deeply.
Don is preceded in death by his parents Rob ert and Belle McCarn and his daughter Amy Short. He is survived by his children Angie Faver and husband Lloyd, of Fort Worth, TX, Billy McCarn and wife Megan, of Moore, grandchildren Zakk Short of Portland, OR, Lucas Short of Mansfield, TX, Bo and Gracie Faver of Fort Worth, TX, Kaylin Short of Stephenville, TX, Tinlee Mc-Carn of Moore, great-grandson Jackson Short of Mansfield, TX, nephew Jason Glass and wife Kelly of Yukon, sister Bobbie Hart and husband Jim of Oklahoma City, sister Debbie McCarn of Shawnee and many more nephews and nieces. Pallbearers are Zakk Short, Lucas Short, Bo Faver, Brian Hart, Jay Black and Wade Glass. Honorary pallbearers are Pat Wilkerson, Chad Stanford, Denny Langdon and Daniel Alexander.
Viewing will be 2:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home.
Family will greet guest from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Holdenville with Pastor Dane Robinson officiating.
Interment will follow at Atwood Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home.
