Our sympathy extended to the family of Shirley Ann Hood

Shirley Ann Hood passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at her home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 71.

Shirley was born October 9, 1950 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Arvie G. Walden and Myrtle Dove (Beck) Walden. She attended Holdenville Public Schools. Shirley married Billy G. Hood. Shirley loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and loved her pets.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband Billy; son Gene Emerson Guinn; four brothers Hugel Walden, Harold Walden, Eugene Walden and Kenneth Walden.

She is survived by her children Beverly Ann Merriman of Holdenville, Ronnie Joe Guinn Jr. of Holdenville, Cheryl J. Strech of Holdenville, Karen Norred of Woodstock Georgia, Susan (Hood) Harris and husband Shane of Newalla, and Bill Hood and wife Teresa of Seminole; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister Bernice Marsh of Holdenville; and brother Alton Walden and wife Rose of Wetumka. Shirley is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 15 ^th , at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Rev. Bill Harris will officiate. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery, Dale, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Tim Strech, Aaron Merriman, Josh Marsh, James Rumbaugh, Cris Strech and Landon Strech.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
