JoAnn Morgan, a long time resident of Stonewall, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at Cornerstone Specialty Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 82.

JoAnn was born April 14, 1941 in Lewiston, Idaho to Bennie “Ben” Ownbey and Margie (Good) Ownbey. JoAnn graduated from Vanoss Public School. She worked as a machine operator for Wrangler. JoAnn retired from Wrangler after working for them for many years. She was a member of Lightening Ridge Baptist Church. JoAnn enjoyed playing dominoes with her brothers, eating catfish and dancing. She loved being a mother and loved, loved her family.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents; and children Robbin Davis, and Pat Thomas.

She is survived by her children: daughterin- law Debbie Davis of Ada, Margie Capps and husband Doil of Ada, Linda Stone and husband Howard of Stonewall, and Debbie Gamble and husband Jim of Harjo; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and siblings Jim Ownbey of Emmitt, Idaho, George Myrick of Ada, and Charlie and Linda Ownbey of Holdenville. JoAnn is survived by numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral service was 1:00pm, We d n e s d a y , March 20th, at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville with Pastor Jerry Clifton officiating. Interment followed at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charlie Ownbey, Jim Gamble, A.J. Wilson, Jeremy Spradlin, Mike Weeks and Brent Greenwood. Honorary pallbearers were George Myrick, Jim Ownbey, Mike Gamble and Brandon Gamble.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
