Class ring found 20 years later!

Body Brock Ulm was shocked when his brother texted him to say one of his wife’s Facebook friends (Jason Grizzle) had posted a picture of his class ring that he lost over 20 years ago. Brock says he lost the ring during the winter of 96-97 while he was walking home from school.

Haylie Turner following in Dad’s footsteps

Body Haylie Turner was one of the top finishers in the Elementary Division of the Wolverine Invitational Cross-Country Meet. It’s too early to determine if Haylie will be the same caliber runner as her dad but the youngster is showing some promise.
A Holdenville track and cross-country coach, Ryan Turner, and his daughter, Haylie, posed for a picture prior to Haylie’s first cross country race of the 2020 season. Ryan was a state champion during his Wolverine running days and now its Haylie’s turn.

Holdenville hosts Wewoka

Body The Holdenville High School football squad will open the 2020 football season Friday night when they face off with their perennial rival the Wewoka Tigers.

Holdenville softball resumes Senior Night Tuesday

Body Coach Sara Morgan’s Wolverine softball team has also been sidelined by the CoVid virus. The Wolverines had to not only miss a week of practice but they also had postpone an important district game with Hugo. However everything is on go this week.
Holdenville Golden Pride Band director, Sam Cosby, has been putting the Wolverine band through practices as they prepare for the fall marching season. The band will be starting their marching season on Friday when the Wolverine football team opens the season with Wewoka.

Body Lawrence Brice Yarbrough was born on March 18, 1998 in Denison, Texas to Alvin and Kimberly Word. He attended Denison schools before moving to Oklahoma where he graduated from Holdenville High School in 2017.

Wolverines miss a week

Body The CoVid virus has caused the Wolverines to miss a week of practice and caused both of Holdenville’s scrimmages to be cancelled. Wewoka, on the other hand, has a typical season thus far. The Tigers have been able to hold regular practices and has had two scrimmages.

Body Winey Ann West passed away Saturday, August 29th, 2020 at St. Francis hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 66. Winey was born June 29th, 1954 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Harry Moppin and Mary Francis (Wood) Jim. Winey graduated high school from Hartshorne.
