James Edward Morrow
James Morrow, born on July 1, 1936, passed away February 15, 2025, at the age of 89 in his home in the presence of loved ones after a full life of service, love, and joy.
James was born to Jim Grafton Morrow and Ora (Jackson) Morrow in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
A proud graduate of Moss High School, James dedicated four years to serving his country in the military. After his service, he continued to serve for 20 years in civil service, where he worked for Tinker Air Force Base. He worked on various missile sites during his military career, contributing greatly to the country he loved. James spent most of his life with his beloved wife, Rose Morrow. Together, they raised four children: Bryan, Tajuana, Eric, and Travis. The couple shared many memories, filled with love and laughter, until Rose’s passing. Later in life, James was lovingly cared for by Barbara Jean. Beyond his work, James had a variety of passions that defined his personality. He avidly participated in the rodeo circuit and enjoyed wagering on horse races. His love for life extended to reading, writing songs, and telling captivating stories to all who would listen. James Morrow will be remembered for his commitment to family, service to his country, and a life full of stories, laughter, and memories that will be forever cherished. His kind heart and adventurous spirit will be missed by all who knew him. James is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ora Morrow, wife Rosa Lea (Leitka) Morrow and son James Bryan Morrow. He is survived by his children; Tajuana Keely of Purcell, Travis Morrow of Prague, Eric Morrow and wife Kim of Meeker and his long-time special friend Barbara Jean. James was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Ann Miller, Chad Morrow, Erica Price, Shane Morrow, Taylor Morrow, Jesse Morrow, Cheyenne Morrow, Caleb Morrow and Lane Morrow. He also was proud of his numerous great-grandchildren. He cherished his family deeply, and his legacy of love and dedication will live on through them. Memorial graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Holdenville Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
