Erma Jeanne Hendon

Erma Jeanne Hendon passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at Atoka Medical Center in Atoka, Oklahoma at the age of 92.

Erma was born June 23, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Rex Abbott and Alice Virginia (Jackson) Abbott. Erma graduated from Capital Hill High School in Oklahoma City. Erma married Paul Hendon in Gainsville, Texas 1945. She was a Secretary for an Insurance Company for many years. Erma enjoyed reading, watching Jimmy Swaggart, QVC, and had a collection of over 4,000 books. She loved visiting with family and friends.

Erma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons; Tommy Hendon, Joseph Hendon, sisters; Wilma Osegueda, Bertha Dockery, Vera Parnell, Vena Hawkins, Alice Meeks, Joseph Abbott and Rex Abbott. She is survived by children; Paul Hendon Jr. and wife Nena of Oklahoma City, Toni Ramsey and husband Arthur of Denison, TX, Brandi Mercer of Piedmont, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 greatgreat grandchildren, sister Beatrice Malendas of Hobbs, NM. Erma is survived by numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Dylan Mercer, Faith Mercer, Justin Fowler, Dakota Blaylock, Craig Ramsey, and Rex Abbott.

Viewing will be 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Calvin Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Jerry Richard officiating.

Interment will follow at Calvin Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
