Elmer “Ray” Woods

Elmer “Ray” Woods passed away Wednesday, February 26th, 2025 at Heritage Village Nursing Center in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 84.

Ray was born April 14th, 1940 in Lawton, Oklahoma to William Woods and Lonna (Birdwell) Woods. Ray was a self-employed Blacksmith.

He married Janette Oursler August 12, 1995 in Arpelar, Oklahoma. Ray was a member of Texas Banner Church of God. He was a member of Cache Masonic Lodge #391. Ray enjoyed horse racing, barrel racing, breeding horses and helping at church. He loved watching his grandson play baseball and basketball.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, son Stormy Ray Woods, brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Janette Woods of the home, children; David Dean Woods of Miami, OK, Robert Dewayne Woods of Duncan, Trenton Michael Simrell and wife Kelly of Lamar, Christina Villafranco of Witchita, Kansas, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and his siblings.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contribution to Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home to help with expenses. Family will greet guest from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Texas Banner Church of God Activity Center, Wetumka, Oklahoma with Pastor Eddie Wrinkle officiating.
