July 15 was the first official practice for the Wolverine softball team. Coach Hannah Howell was new to Holdenville Schools and she was putting her team through some simple drills.

Charley Brooks Hailey Passes Away

Charley Brooks Hailey passed away Saturday, April 25th, 2026, at his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 78. Charley was born July 15th, 1947, in Maud, Oklahoma to Brooks Hailey and Lois Marie (Orsburn) Hailey. Charley graduated from Holdenville Public School. He married Linda Faye Johnson on February 14, 1987, in Seminole, Oklahoma. Charley worked in the Oilfield industry as a Roustabout. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening and operating equipment. Charley loved spending time with his family and friends. Charley is preceded in death by his parents Brooks and Lois Hailey, and grandchild Dalton Brown. He is survived by his wife Linda Hailey of the home, children; Cody Brooks Hailey and wife Dawn of McComb, Glenda Brown of Konawa, Danny Cooper and wife Joy of Kansas, Connie Pierre and husband Greg of Maud, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, siblings; Donna Lipe of Holdenville and David Hailey of Holdenville. Charley is survived by numerous other relatives and friends. There will be no service at this time. Services are under the direction of Hudson- Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

The Holdenville Society of Painters and Sculptors (HSPS) Art Center will host its Spring Art Show Open House on Sunday, May 3, 2026, inviting the public to experience a showcase of artwork from local artists, including students, as well as other artists from around the area.
