Carol Ann Chism

Carol Ann Chism passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 in Altus, Oklahoma at the age of 78.

Carol was born April 10, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Willie Mack Wooten and Kathryn (Fitch) Wooten. Carol graduated from High School in Mesquite, Texas. After graduation, she attended Vo-Tech in Oklahoma City and received her LPN license. She married Emmett V. Chism on February 15, 1983 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Carol worked as an LPN for 33 years in various hospitals throughout Oklahoma including in Holdenville Family Clinic. Carol was a member of the 4th & Broadway Church of Christ in Holdenville. She enjoyed word search puzzles, reading and her grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Kathryn Wooten, and her husband Emmett Chism. She is survived by her son Chris Rankins and wife Rebecca of Granite, OK, grandchildren: Kathryn Jade Stallings and husband Evan, Brittaine O’Guinn and husband Diontre, Brooklyn Rankins, Krystian Rankins, Eldon Rankins, great grandchildren; Piper Brooks, Kyrie O’Guinn, Edith Stallings, Scotlynn Stallings, sister Linda Kay Watson of Chandler, nephews and niece; John Watson, Brian Watson and Nicole Watson.

Pallbearers are Jeff Moore, Diontre O’Guinn, Evan Stallings, Eldon Rankins, Brian Watson, and Rusty Watson.

Viewing will be 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, December 11th and 9:00am to 7:00pm, Friday, December 12th at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Funeral service will be 10:00am, Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Hudson- Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville with Pastor Marla Chesser officiating.

Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
