Service Saturday for Reverend Berry

Overseer John T. Berry Jr., passed away Friday, November 10th, 2023 at his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 78.

John was born March 23rd, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John Thorn Berry Sr. and Leona Ruth (Webb) Berry. John graduated from Star Spencer High School. He served in the US Navy in the Vietnam War. John married Wilma Hooks November 7, 1992. He loved to go fishing, horseback riding, OU football, his Church and Church family. John was a family man and enjoyed taking pictures.

John is preceded in death by his Parents, siblings; Richard Berry, Howard Berry, Jerry Berry, Ronald Berry, Larry Berry, Linda Berry and Michael Berry. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Berry of the home, children; Ken Berry and wife Kermetta of Oklahoma City, Kevin Berry and wife Nerissa of Edmond, Gayle Maxwell and husband Kevin of Oklahoma City, Yvonne Anderson of Little Rock , AR, Michael Alexander of Oklahoma City, Bobby Walker and wife Lily of Shawnee, Chanelle Walker of Houston, TX, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, siblings; brothers Floyd Berry and wife Chaketha of Midwest City, Henry Johnson of Dallas, TX, John Meads of Vinita, and sister Beverly Jefferson of Midwest City. John is survived by numerous of relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Rev. Ronnie Hunter, Keith Florie, Shawn Jones, Emery Lincoln, Tyrone Brown and Michael Allen. Honorary pallbearers are sons and grandsons.

Viewing will be 9:00am-7:00pm, Thursday, Nov. 16th and 9:00am-7:00pm, Friday, Nov. 17, 2023 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Funeral service will be 11:00am, Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Evangelist Temple C.O.G.I.C., in Holdenville, Oklahoma with Rev. Clarence Prevost officiating.

Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
