In an end of the season awards dinner, Parker Robinson, Holdenville, was named Player of the Year in “A League of Their Own.” League organizers say she “showed all the core values you hope to see in any individual in any circumstance, on and off the field. She played to the best of her ability, while showing superior sportsmanship and a great attitude, inspiring her “buddies” each and every game.” Also pictured is Arpoika Daniels.

The war was fought from 1950-1953 and over two and a half million people were killed. Many Hughes Countians fought in this war including many in the picture above. Holdenville Lions Club met at Boom a Rang Diner on 5-625. The Minutes of the 4-22-25 meeting were read by Lion Jerrie Lindsey, and approved unanimously. Treasurer, Lion Steve Enos gave the Treasurer’s report that both accounts were up-to-date. There was enough in the Service account to cover the $2000 scholarships and the donation to Point of Grace Sober Living home had been given. The Treasurer’s report was approved unanimously.
