Curt Loftin, New Holdenville City Inspector Arthur Cook, New Holdenville Airport Manager

Body
New faces joined the city of Holdenville team last week at the city council meeting. After 30 years of faithful service, city inspector Mike Dockrey retired from his post leaving some very big shoes to fill. Mike began with the department of sanitation more than 30 years ago and worked his way up to city inspector. However, Mike took on far more duties than his job title included. Mike helped at the water treatment center, on water and sewer line breaks and locates, maintaining lift stations and generators, maintaining the city’s website and smartphone app among countless other things. Mike did everything from IT to public works and always stepped up when and where there was a need. His shoes will be hard to fill, but from the sound of the new hire for city inspector at the last city council meeting, the city is off to a very good start. Starting this week as the new city inspector is Curt Loftin who was hired by a unanimous vote of the city council. Curt comes to Holdenville by way of Ada. He has a Bachelor of Science in construction technology from East Central University. Curt began his career in 1985 in drafting and design for Draftsman, Childers and Childers Architects before starting his own company, I.T.E. Construction in 1987. For the next 19 years he owned and operated his own construction crew where he oversaw hundreds of major building projects. In 2006 Curt was offered a job with the Chickasaw Nation as the facility su perintendent where he oversaw all maintenance of buildings, selection of contractors, oversaw the bidding process, managed building projects, and designed and coordinated all facility remodels. He worked with the Chickasaw Nation in this capacity for the past almost 15 years. He is highly qualified and brings a lifetime of experience with him. Curt is currently in the process of moving to the Holdenville area. We look forward to welcoming him and helping him connect with our community.
