Early voting begins Thursday February 9th for voters in Hughes County. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day, have the option of voting early at their County Election Board.

February, 10th 2023, is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the March 7th Special State Election, Hughes County Election Board Secretary Brandy Davis said today.

Sexual battery and assault charges have been filed against 42-year-old Hughes County Jail inmate, Randy Latrell Mills, after he forced himself on a female Hughes County jailer. On December 31, Deputy Josh Kelley of the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Hughes County Jail, where the detention officer informed him of the incident.

The week of January 9th was an exciting one for the Holdenville FFA Chapter. The annual pie auction was held on Thursday the 12th to raise funds for the Holdenville Ag Booster Club.

Michael Christian Wilcox, 32, of Holdenville, was booked into the Seminole County Jail on January 13 and charged with one count of producing, procuring, possessing juvenile pornography, one count of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16, and one count of forcible sodomy.

The filing period for Holdenville’s upcoming city council election has been set for February 6-8. A resolution passed by the city council has set the dates and seats which will ne open for the eleciton.
