Holdenville General Hospital Makes Strides in Community Health and Facility Improvements At the recent Holdenville City Council meeting on September 17, Holdenville General Hospital (HGH) CEO Steve Stewart provided an encouraging update on the hospital’s progress and initiatives aimed at better serving the community. Financial Health and Community Engagement Stewart shared positive news about the hospital’s financials, particularly highlighting a significant boost from a large payment through the 340B Drug Pricing Program.

HOLDENVILLE SEES SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS IN TOWN CLEANUP EFFORTS

Holdenville has been undergoing a remarkable transformation, thanks to a series of successful cleanup initiatives aimed at revitalizing the community. Since August 23, the city has made substantial progress by tearing down more than 60 abandoned houses. This effort not only removes unsightly and unsafe structures but also opens up new possibilities for development and beautification in these areas.
The houses at the corner of 7th and N. Oak have been removed. The site of major controversy in the past, now has fresh new beginning thanks to the town’s cleanup efforts

CITY LIMB AND BRUSH PICKUP BEGINS OCTOBER 1

With winter coming to and end and Spring just around the corner, many area residents are already starting to take advantage of the warmer weather to start trimming back the dead and lengthy limbs on their property. Others may have dead limbs and branches from the summer storms that need to be cleaned up. Street Commissioner Jim Thetford reminds Holdenville residents that the City of Holdenville will be providing the traditional Fall curbside pickup of brush and limbs during the month of October so they can begin planning their yard work strategy.
CITY OF HOLDENVILLE BRUSH PICK-UP SCHEDULE CITY WIDE BRUSH AND LIMB PICK UP – This map shows the four sections Holdenville has been divided into for brush and limb pickup. Each week a different section will receive free, curbside brush and limb pickup service. All limbs and brush should be placed off the street between the sidewalk and the curb and cut to not over 6’ length.

Holdenville trounces Okemah 68-0 The Wolverine’s contest with Okemah was over at the end of the first quarter. Holdenville rolled up a 32-0 lead before the horn sounded to end the first stanza and the only question that remained was the final score.
HOLDENVILLE BAND DIRECTOR, SAM CROSBY, WAS BEAMING WITH PRIDE AFTER HIS TRUMPET SECTION DID AN AMAZING JOB DURING THE PLAYING OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.
