Holdenville man suspected of stealing trailer in custody

A man suspected of stealing a trailer from Seminole Public Schools’ bus barn is now in custody. According to police reports, SPS Transport Supervisor Jolene Doucette reported a white box trailer was stolen on Sept. 5, around 3:30 a.m. and she made the report the next day. Lt. Michael Mason reviewed footage from a surveillance camera, which showed a white male with chin-length hair cut the chain to the yard, pulled a silver quad cab GMC pickup truck into the yard and then left with a Cargo Craft Enclosed Utility trailer.

The Holdenville Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will be hosting the annual Fall Festival and Car Show this Saturday, October 3, centered around Main Street and Broadway. The festival is traditionally scheduled for the first Saturday in October and offers the citizens of Holdenville an opportunity to enjoy a day of fellowship with family, friends, neighbors, and guests. It also helps promote the community, especially the local businesses and organizations, to the many visitors the festival attracts from across the state and beyond.

Wolverines Win!!!!

It’s been a while since Holdenville won a game on the field. (Wynnewood couldn’t field a team last week so as far as most folks are concerned that contest will count as a forfeit.) it’s been almost two years since the Wolverines actually beat another team on the field. Holdenville lost 15 games in a row before walloping the North Rock Creek Panthers 40-0.
Tyrell Phillips marched with the Golden Pride at the Wolverines’ game at North Rock Creek.The band is working hard to polish the routine they’ll use in this years marching contests.

Wolverine softball team shines

Coach Sarah Morgan’s Wolverine softball team continues to improve. Holdenville played seven games this past week and won six. The Wolverines lost to highly ranked Tishomingo early in the week but came back on the rebound to take two games from Atoka ( 6-0 and 4-2), Two games from Hugo ( 12-0 and 10-0.), one game from Antlers (7-2) and a forfeit from Idabel.

Holdenville played Atoka on the road. Brayden Smith swung a big stick for the Wolverines and finished the game 4 for 4. Kaden Morris hit a ground rule double and a home run. Coach Morgan was pleased with her pitchers, Cheyenne Fixico and Faith Norman. According to Coach Morgan both pitchers dominated the Atoka batters.

Holdenville won both games at Hugo. The Wolverines made short work of the Buffaloes and won both games by run rule. Brayden Smith had an inside the park home run. Coach Morgan praised the hitting of Belle Mc-Farland, Emmy Mariott, Cylee Null, Stevi Huff, Kaden Morris,and Brooklyn Brown.

The Wolverines got a big win over a highly respected Antlers team. Brooklyn Brown led off the game with a bunt single and Kaden Morris brought her home with a base hit. Coach Morgan also praised the hitting of Cheyenne Fixico and Stevi Huff.
