The 2020 Holdenville Fall Festival and Car Show was a huge success. This was due in part to the pleasant weather, but mostly to the hard work by the Holdenville Chamber of Commerce, who sponsor the Festival and Car Show, the Holdenville Business Women, who sponsor the Fall Festival Parade, and the many other organizations, businesses and individuals that contribute their time, energy, and funds to this celebration of all the positive things the Holdenville community has to offer.

Holdenville defeats Lexington 16-8

It’s been over two years since the Holdenville ‘ Victory Bell ‘ made a sound at Wolverine Stadium. But a happy bunch of Wolverine players made an attempt to wear it out following Holdenville’s 16-8 win over the Lexington Bulldogs. Holdenville Head Coach, Monty Lewis, turned his squad loose on the bell immediately after the final gun and the team rushed to the north end of the stadium to signal to the world that the long home losing streak had ended.
Holdenville running back # 5, Cy Tiger, takes a hand-off from Wolverine quarterback # 2, Matt Cox while # 4, Christian Zambrano and # 55 Cory Skeen clear the way. Holdenville defeated Lexington in the contest 16-8.

New Pastor at Holdenville Pentecostal Holiness Church

The Holdenville Pentecostal Holiness Church is pleased to announce the selection of their new pastor. Reverend Kelley Farris was recently selected in a congregational vote. New Horizon Ministries Conference Superintendent Bishop Randell O. Drake will install Rev. Farris as the new pastor on October 11 at 11 am at the church, located at 310 N. Echo in Holdenville. The public is invited to the Pastoral Installation Service and to be the church’s guests during regular church services.

Deadline to Request Absentee Ballots Nears

For registered voters in Hughes County to apply for absentee ballots to be mailed to them for the November 3rd General Election, County Election Board Secretary Brandy Davis said today. Applications for absentee ballots must be received by the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m.

Voter Registration Deadline is October 9th

Friday, October 9th, is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the November 3rd General Election Hughes, County Election Board Secretary Brandy Davis said today. Davis said that persons who are United States citizens, residents of Oklahoma, and at least 18 years old may apply to become registered voters.

CONGRATULATIONS TO FAITH VOIGT (left) AND CAITLYN STORY (right), who were awarded the Tri-County Alliance’s Scholarships for 2020. A check for $1,000 was presented to each recipient by Overseer John Berry, the President of the Tri-County Ministerial Alliance. The Alliance included churches in Holdenville, Atwood, Wewoka, Seminole, Ada and Konawa.
