Two Holdenville police officers showed incredible bravery on the night of August 20, while responding to a call at Walmart concerning suspect Devin McKee. McKee had a warrant out for his arrest and Officers Jackson and Grizzle had already been on the lookout for him.
A Hughes County woman died after the car she was driving rolled over, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. OHP investigators reported Shirley Snow, 83, of Calvin, died in a single-vehicle incident Thursday afternoon about three miles west of Stuart.
Tuesday night, August 24, Holdenville Police officers responded to a call of a possible grand theft auto in progress at the Dollar General Store in Holdenville. Upon making contact with the suspect, Missy Harjo, she began to flee the scene in her car which led to a multi-county, multi-agency pursuit.
There were 31 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hughes County last week. Slightly less than the 43 reported two weeks ago, but officials say we are not out of the woods yet. Cases continue to rise across the state. Integris Health, SSM Health and Mercy each reported that they had no available intensive-care unit beds. OU Health said it has no available beds for COVID-19 patients.
